Course description

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the Pāli language, a vital tool for studying Buddhism. Students will master the Pāli alphabet, writing system, and pronunciation, along with essential grammar concepts. By the end, learners will be able to read and understand basic Pāli texts, unlocking a deeper exploration of Buddhist literature and philosophy.

• Total study time 8 hours
• Total time of the video (at least) 5 hours

Learning Objective

• Students will be able to recognize and identify the basic sounds and symbols of the Pāli alphabet.
• Students will be able to explain the concept of sandhi (sound changes at word junctions) in Pāli and provide examples.
• Students will be able to describe the three genders (masculine, feminine, neuter) in Pāli nouns and provide examples of each.
• Students will be able to transliterate Pāli words from the Pāli into the Roman alphabet.
• Students will be able to compare and contrast different aspects of the Pāli language, such as its similarities and differences with other languages.

Course activity and Evaluation /Grading required to receive course certificate

• Unit Test 60%
• Final Exam 40%
• Student require a minimum of 70% to pass and receive certificate

คำอธิบายรายวิชา

รายวิชาภาษาบาลี (หลักสูตรนานาชาติ) เป็นการศึกษาลักษณะของภาษาบาลีเบื้องต้น ทั้งตัวอักษร การเขียน ไวยากรณ์ และหลักภาษาเบื้องต้น เป็นรายวิชาเสริมของการเรียนการสอนสำหรับนิสิตปริญญาตรี และช่วยส่งเสริมให้ผู้สนใจในภาษาบาลี ได้มีความรู้ ความเข้าใจในภาษาบาลีเบื้องต้นมากขึ้น ทั้งรูปประโยค โครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ คำศัพท์ ส่งเสริมการจัดการเรียนการสอนในมหาวิทยาลัย ผู้เรียนสามารถเรียนรู้ภาษาบาลีเพื่อการค้นคว้าพระไตรปิฎก เพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้แก่ตนเองในการศึกษาเพิ่มเติมในอนาคตได้

ชั่วโมงการเรียนรู้

• รวมเวลาเรียน 8 ชั่วโมง
• รวมเวลาของวิดีโอ 5 ชั่วโมง

วัตถุประสงค์การเรียนรู้

• ผู้เรียนมมีความรู้ภาษาบาลีขั้นพื้นฐาน
• ผู้เรียนสามารถอธิบายหลักภาษาบาลีเบื้องต้นได้
• ผู้เรียนสามารถออกเสียงและอ่านภาษาบาลีได้
• ผู้เรียนสามารถเขียนภาษาบาลีในตำแหน่งต่าง ๆ ของคำได้
• ผู้เรียนสามารถเปรียบเทียบและแสดงความแตกต่างระหว่างแง่มุมต่างๆ ของภาษาบาลีได้

เกณฑ์การวัดผลและการประเมินผลในรายวิชา

• Unit Test 60%
• Final Exam 40%
• ผู้เรียนต้องได้คะแนนขั้นต่ำ 70% จึงจะผ่านและรับใบรับรอง
